Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve pain and muscle tension throughout the body, which in turn can improve mobility, flexibility and posture. This type of massage is extremely beneficial because it reaches the deepest layer of muscles, fascia (connective tissue surrounding the joints) and tendons. The goal in deep tissue massage is to break down adhesions (tense areas within the muscle). Adhesions in the muscle are important to address because they cause pain, inflammation and limit motion of the muscles and joints.
My advanced deep tissue training enables me to focus on and treat a host of specific issues, including back and shoulder pain, as well as problems with the deep muscles of the legs and arms.
Deep tissue massage is most suited to people involved in heavy physical activity through work or sport and those who have specific injuries.
